Montessori’s most basic principle: Single concept teaching:
All blocks must be the same colour if teaching numbers!
And what happened to the numeral 3 ??
Diane: Good observation. Yeah, agree. If possible should have the same colour of Cuisenaire rods. However, notice that for a child with special needs, and for an introductory exercise perhaps, the same colour cubes which corresponded with the same colour of the numerals were use. If the child couldn’t count yet, he can match the colours to the numerals.
Numeral 3 is white which is the same colour as the cubes. I’m not sure how it would look like in real.
