Hooray, Holiday, Ho Ho How?
I always wonder what do children have in mind when it is holiday season. Where do they want to go? What do they want to do when they reach their holiday destinations? What do they wish to see, eat, make or whom do they want to meet? What specific activities would they love to participate? Another thing I should bear in mind is the age, physical abilitiy and cultural background of the child or the group of children.
I drew some ideas and inspirations from magazines and newspapers about how to plan holiday activities and destinations for children.
– Keep a diary or journal with collectible items, such as photographs, postcards, memorabilias, leaflets, maps etc. This activity could be extended or elaborated as a family-get-together workout and convert the simple diary/journal to an attractive scrapbook.
– Headings that could spur older children (7 yrs old and above) to write their own account of a holiday experience:
*What I liked
*What I didn’t like
*What I ate and drank
*What I saw
*What I bought
