Baby’s First Word

We all know how important it is to communicate with baby using simple but clear language. This particular project is managed by a trust in UK under the umbrella of the government agency.

The project called Baby’s First Word is a Talk To Your Baby initiative to encourage parents to communicate with their baby by asking them to listen out for, and share, their child’s first word. Talk To Your Baby is asking libraries, nurseries and other early years settings to take part in Baby’s First Word, by setting up display areas featuring first words and the stories behind them.

Parents or any agencies who are interested can download the pack from the site itself. Baby’s First Word has been created by Talk To Your Baby in association with the Early Years Library Network, Bookstart and Youth Libraries Group.

I personally wonder, if I have a baby, what would his or her first word be? Would it be ‘hello’ with a smile? That would be the greatest gift of all.
